Edgar Davids chooses Mustafa Ayman to represent the UAE in South Africa, Red Bull Street Style World Finals, sponsored by du

Dubai, 17 November 2009: In an event sponsored by du, the best local football freestylers performed at the Red Bull Street Style UAE Finals that took place on 13 November at Uptown Mirdiff in Dubai.

Mustafa Ayman- Nicknamed “Loco”
(from Palestine), an 18 year-old freestyler, outperformed Bilal B (from Syria) with his excellent skills and moves. Mustafa came first; Bilal was ranked in 2nd place, while Abdullah Molvi clinched the 3rd place. Mustafa will represent the UAE at the world finals that will gather the best freestylers from around the world in Cape Town, South Africa in February 2010.

“I love freestyle football, I did not expect to win tonight, but I trained well and was prepared for the finals”, said Mustafa. “It is really a dream to participate at the World Finals in Cape Town, South Africa. I fear nobody and I am ready for the next challenge”, he concluded.

32 participants gathered at 6:00 pm for the kick-off of the UAE Finals, Only 16 qualified for the second round while only 8 proceeded to the quarter final.

The competition reached its peak when Mustafa beat Bilal after a tough head- to-head battle;

Impressive moves and manoeuvre were displayed in front of the judging panel and Maher clinched the title by leaving the audience spell-bound with his skills.

The judging panel comprised of the UAE national former football hero Salem Al Jauhar, Former Duch football legend, Edgar Davids, 2008 Red Bull Street Style World Champion, Sean Garnier and B-boy Tommy. Participants were evaluated upon three different criteria: control, creativity and style.
